LWV Priorities 07 08 Taste of League Potluck and PolicySaturday, February 16, 2008 Food for Thought LuncheonsLWV Oshkosh Area holds monthly "Food for Thought" luncheons which feature speakers on various city, county, school, state and national topics of interest to League members. These buffet luncheons are held at noon on the second Wednesday of every month at the China King Restaurant, 280 S. Koeller, Oshkosh. No reservation is needed. Meetings are always open to the public. Local Positions 07 Summary Homeless Study Report -- 2005The LWV Oshkosh undertook a study of the role of local government in providing shelter for the homeless. A League committee collected data and conducted interviews with service providers as well as with the City of Oshkosh Community Development Department. This report focuses on the issue of homeless people in Oshkosh and includes data on the estimated number of homeless persons, availability of shelter beds and identifies gaps in services to the homeless.
